"You know what makes navigating this modern world so tough? It's not the lack of quality information, it's the overwhelming sea of disinformation."

My Work.

Plenty of tidbits to find. This website is full of Banded Iron micro-fossil pictures with self-sustainable office tips!

Check out the "Gallery/Archive" tab for all photos. (Updated weekly)
Check out the "Blog" for How-to's and history of my work. (Including my journies!)
Check out the "Contact" tab for links to my Social Media, mission statement etc.
I love hearing the good and bad, criticism is how one improves. Feel free to send a message! Use the "Contact" tab to get ahold of me too. (Checked daily)
Last, don't forget to check out cool geologists and paleontologists in your area via the "Your Community" tab. (I'm making this soon!)

Don't forget to consider donating! I can continue my work thanks to people like you. :) I have never been sponsored or shown special interest. Any help furthering my research is greatly appreciated as funds are minute. Thank you.

FAQ

What are all these pictures of?
Every single picture on this site is of Banded Iron. The rock(s) were found in the Southwest, USA. Banded Iron was formed approximately 3 BILLION years ago.

What is "Bog Iron"?
"Bog Iron" can be imagined like this:
if you leave a rock outside over many seasons it contracts and expands with ice, heat, weathering, etc. Over time little things crawl into the cracks, then fossilize. This has been seen in bogs/marshes/wetlands hence the name. This is another explanation for my finds.
Picture
What is "Ancestralite"?
If you do a web search of "Ancestralite", mostly spiritual sites pop up. Many mysteries surround this stone.
Picture
Why haven't I heard or seen this before?
Money, influence and maybe some luck. Seems you need these to make an impact in Western science. I have sent emails/letters with no response or disinterest. I'm offered to send samples to be cataloged and placed in a warehouse. I will continue reaching out and hope my research can help those in power above me.
Picture
How were these pictures taken?
All these beautiful pictures are taken with a 5MP USB Stereoscope purchasable from most large online retailers, but I reccomend a local shop if you want to get one.
Picture
Are these photos real?
Yes! I strive to be as honest as possible. I do not photoshop or greatly alter the photos beyond increasing saturation, some cropping etc. I have 1000's of originals that will be continuously uploaded to this site.
Picture
So, what are these pictures of exactly?
While the rock itself is called Banded Iron ore, the microfossils and debri inside have other names. Please keep in mind I am still learning/taking classes.
The information below is a work in progress and can change at any moment. Understand this is only my best guess and could be WRONG.
I've identified some of the detritus as Trilobite remains, tracks, larva etc.

Trilobites are a cool lot of creatures that lived for a really long time on the ocean floor. They look like something of sciencefiction.
Other micro-fossil finds include, but not limited to:
Stromatolites, tube worms, snails/shells, other deep-sea trench life.
Picture
How old are these "fossils"? / When was BIF formed?
Banded Iron formations (BIF) formed when the Earth was still creating it's own landscape. The Earth had (what we believe) rudementary life during the "Cambrian" period. "Bog Iron" explains how/why I have so many critters to take pictures of. There could be (literally) creatures from almost any timeframe in Earth's history present inside some BIF's.

Anyone else find this stuff in BIF's too?
Yes and no. There are other early-formed rocks that are littered with pretty flecks and microfossils that go by other names. I'll list them below soon.

Why do you say "disinformation"?
Humanity has made great strides from the help of the Smithsonian and other larger institutes. Greed corrupts the human element, especially in old age. The vast amounts of vague or incorrect misinformation in respected institutions is of serious concern for 2021/2022.

One of my 'best' beginner rock and mineral books (which I still do reccomend) is wrong in many aspects beyond my work and is published by The Smithsonian.

These grevious errors span beyond my one example. It is serverly stifling the minds of budding scientists globally.

Who decides to write textbooks? Usually Western/'white' influential men (and some women) decide what is printed. There are editors, the publication themselves (Ex. Penguin) and boards deciding on the wording. Word choice can be subliminal and your subconcious notices things in which you don't. It creates seeds of self-doubt and gatekeeps knowledge to only those with access to it. (Think internet, opportunities, higher education, access etc.) It sends young minds to go down "goose chases" of finding out information they think we don't already know. It's a waste of human potential to repeat the same discoveries. Critical thinking isn't encouraged. Why not update textbooks?

  • "Mostly consists of ______, _______ and _______" is lazy writing, wrong and directly contradicts what they claim a few sentences below.
If Ironstone can be created in almost any water-ladden environment AND have inorganic/organic involvement...
Doesn't that mean a little more then Chert and Iron would be present? These questions have been asked and well answered by now.
  • According to The Smithsonian, the Pre-Cambrian era of Earth was 2000-3000 MILLION years old. Why not say billion?
  • Vague wordings of "possiblity", "mostly", "suggest", "open to interpretation", "mostly consists of" makes it seem its open for debate. (False leads as we already have known this information for a long time)
  • It personally offends me that they say a definitive "only VERY primitive organisims existed on Earth".
Were they there?
Did they "Google" before typing this?
(they as in publisher)
Microscopic life was the only life on Earth for a long time. Think of your ancestors, or the trillions of cells that make you and your brain. Primitive is a word they use to describe humans in other Smithsonian articles. I'm not impressed either way. (This is called Whitewashing)
  • There are well known scientists that have been studying fossils in BIF's well before me and this book's publication. Why claim there is NO fossils below, but then say "organic involvement is of great interest". Great interest to who?
Picture
  • When a 'rock' is lumped into an "other" category with a "nothing in this category" next to it, again makes it seem like there is a mystery to be solved. Imagine finding a stone in your yard that couldn't be identified by your $22USD Smithsonian book? Going down the Duckduckgo rabbithole, trying to sift through sites and scientific journals to find the right info?

  • Salt is labeled as an "other".

Plenty of gem/mineral books have conflicting information. Aren't these 'rocks, chemicals and minerals' the atomic structure of elements themselves (in simple terms)?
Don't we know more about chemistry? (Answer is yes, it's mathmatical and not open for debate, for now anyways.)
Picture
This is one way conspiracy theories can start. It can undermine the other advancements Science has made sowing seeds of doubt. (For good reason too)
Picture
Any spiritual significance to these stones?
If you roll that way, absolutely.

Why is this site important?
This website was created to help break boundaries. Someday my work will be of use to those that can surpass what I've already done. I'll do my best keeping this domain alive past my lifetime.
[2 x 10^9 = 2,000,000,000] is the scientific notation for two billion. That gave me inspiration to name this site. It's also time to give "109" a new, positive meaning. Thank you for reading.
